The Importance of Making Sure Your Toothbrush is Comfortable in Your Hand

Choosing a toothbrush may not be the most complicated choice you will ever have to make. But knowing what to buy will make your brushing experience more efficient and enjoyable overall. Today we will be discussing why choosing a toothbrush that sits in your hands ergonomically is important.
Comfort Increases Efficiency
A toothbrush is a tool, and like with any tool, ensuring that you are comfortable with using it will make all the difference. If you are using a pen to write, you want the length of the pen to be ideal. Nobody wants to use a short, stubby, thin pen to write an entire page! The same applies to a toothbrush, but this time your oral health is what this choice affects.
The toothbrush is supposed to reach all corners of your mouth, including the back where your molars are. You can imagine that using a short toothbrush would make this more difficult than it needs to be; if you are an adult or a teenager with average-sized hands, almost any top-brand toothbrush for adults will do the trick for comfortably reaching all areas of your mouth.
The shape of the head also comes into play for efficiently reaching harder-to-get areas of your mouth. We recommend a diamond head-shaped toothbrush, this provides a good balance between covering enough area and reaching between tighter areas.
In addition to this, we also recommend that the toothbrush contains soft bristles. Hard bristles are rough on your enamel and may cause damage over time, especially if you brush aggressively- which you shouldn't do in the first place! Brushing gently will remove plaque and stuck food particles with ease.
