Dental trauma is relatively common. If you have recently experienced traumatic dental or oral pain, you understand exactly what we are talking about. While not every dental trauma is an emergency, you should reach out to us with any dental trauma you have recently experienced.
Dental Trauma Situations
If you have chipped or cracked your teeth recently you should let us know. Even if it does not hurt, we need to check the structure of the tooth to make sure no bacteria can penetrate the inside of your tooth. It could be that you just have a hairline fracture, but if that fracture goes unnoticed, you could have a problem with infection down the road.
You should reach out to us if you have recently injured a tooth. This could mean that part of your tooth or the entire tooth has been knocked out. Time is of the essence. It may be possible to reinsert and preserve your tooth if you act quickly to call our office. Don't wait until the end of the ball game to give us a call. Leave immediately and let us help you.
